John is a solicitor with over thirty five years' experience of insurance and other commercial litigation, in both private practice and in-house. John's career includes being a Practice Manager for a leading professional indemnity underwriting agency. In that role he managed claims handling and litigation under delegated authorities, drafted policy wordings and dealt with compliance issues. John qualified as a fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1990, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 1999 and is a solicitor in the Republic of Ireland.

Robert has more than 20 years of experience as a solicitor with expertise in dispute resolution relating to insurance, construction, professional negligence, professional conduct, statutory liabilities, reinsurance, shipping and legal costs. He has handled many cases concerning architects', engineers' and contractors' professional and contractual liabilities, often with significant technical dimensions, in a variety of industries including energy and transport. He also has extensive experience in relation to liabilities of financial advisers and actuaries.
Robert has undertaken advocacy in final hearings in the County Court, private arbitrations and adjudications, and before disciplinary panels.
Robert is an insurance market intellectual with degrees from Cambridge and UCLA and recently obtained a post graduate degree at Kings College in strategic war studies. He insists that analysis of strategy is directly applicable to litigation which is always about the goals that can be realistically obtained with finite means.

Philip is a dual qualified New York Attorney and English Solicitor with over 20 years insurance and construction industry experience. Having worked in both London and New York, Philip has extensive experience of litigation and arbitration in the UK and the US.
Philip’s practice advises on contentious and non-contentious matters primarily involving professionals or business directors and officers (particularly the construction, engineering, environmental, and legal professions) and advising on insurance and reinsurance wordings, coverage and disputes. His non-contentious practice includes advising on construction projects and contracts, environmental and corporate social responsibility issues, as well as IT/IP matters and "Smart City" initiatives.

Peter studied at Kings College. London and has over thirty years’ experience providing legal services in arbitrations, High Court Proceedings, mediations and other ADR. This has covered the full range of professional indemnity-related matters, with particular specialism in contractor, construction-consultant, surveyor/valuer and broker claims. His construction caseload, which includes both first and third party claim resolution, has covered civil and structural, mechanical and electrical, geotechnical, transport, infrastructure, marine, oil and other energy issues. He has substantial international experience, in particular in the Middle-East, the Far-East and in Ireland, where he practised for several years. He has been involved in numerous complex and high value claims including leading the defence team for the engineer on the Wembley Stadium dispute in what was then the largest construction claim ever in the TCC. Dominic specialises in professional negligence and insurance litigation on behalf of insurers, brokers and corporate clients as well as general commercial litigation. His professional liability practice focuses on claims against a wide range of professionals with a particular focus on insurance brokers, solicitors and professionals within the construction sector including architects, contract administrators, engineers, project managers and surveyors.

Janet specialises in professional negligence and insurance litigation. She has acted on behalf of a wide range of professionals, including those involved in the construction industry (architects, engineers, surveyors) and the financial services sector, and solicitors. She has also been involved in coverage and D&O disputes.
She has extensive experience of litigation in the English courts, as well as international arbitration. Janet has been involved in a number of high profile cases.

Richard is an experienced dispute resolution lawyer, who has specialised for most of his career on professional indemnity, coverage and construction disputes. His professional indemnity experience has spanned most non-medical professions and included defending claims against top 100 firms of solicitors and some of the biggest names in the construction professions. His caseload has ranged from small claims brought by individuals to complex multi-million-pound arbitrations involving several parties across different countries throughout the world. He has a strong track record of resolving claims with Pre-action Protocol Letters of Response alone and of defeating litigated claims with strike out/summary judgment applications. In addition to his dispute resolution practice, he has gained significant non-contentious experience, for example advising construction professionals (including world-famous landmark architects) on appointment documents and negotiating terms with international employers and co-consultants.
After reading Law at Bristol, Richard was called to the Bar and completed pupillage at a leading Commercial Chancery set in Lincoln’s Inn. Thereafter, he moved worked for several years at another highly-regarded specialist insurance law firm. He joined Caytons Law in 2017.

Tom gained a First in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, before converting to law. He was called to the Bar in 2010 and is a Lord Denning Scholar of Lincoln's Inn. He achieved a commendation in the Graduate Diploma in Law and a distinction in an LLM at King's College London. His LLM included modules in ICT Law, Civil Procedure and Clinical Negligence, in all of which he obtained a distinction.
Prior to joining Caytons Law, Tom completed a pupillage at Hailsham Chambers where he focused on professional negligence. He covered all major areas of chambers' practice, clinical negligence and professional negligence (including actions against solicitors, surveyors, financial advisors and auditors). Since joining Caytons Law as in-house Counsel, Tom has adapted well to private practice, and currently assists in a range of cases.

Sam is a qualified solicitor. Prior to joining Caytons Law Sam worked for another professional indemnity practice as a claims handler dealing with claims against professionals.
During his time at Caytons Law as a trainee Sam completed the Legal Practice Course obtaining a distinction. Sam deals with claims against solicitors, insurance brokers and architects and other professionals engaged in the construction industry. Of particular note, Sam acted on behalf of a firm of solicitors who were being sued for negligent advice in relation to a lease along with 19 other firms of solicitors. Sam successfully assisted in the defence of a claim at court on the basis of a limitation defence which no other firm pursued. Sam also advises on appointments and collateral warranties.

Nicola graduated from University College Cork with a First Class Honours law degree in 2007. Following her undergraduate degree, Nicola completed a Master's degree in law in 2009.
Prior to joining Caytons, Nicola trained in a reputable law firm in Dublin and received an award from the Law Society of Ireland for her academic achievements. Nicola qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and upon qualification worked as an assistant solicitor specialising in commercial law. Nicola is qualified as a solicitor in both Ireland and England.

Alison obtained a first class honours degree in Psychology from Royal Holloway, the University of London, before converting to law, completing both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. Prior to joining Caytons Law as a trainee, Alison worked for a large dispute resolution service, resolving insurance disputes and providing training and guidance in respect of the effects of recent changes to insurance law.

Emily obtained a first class honours degree in Law from Nottingham Trent University where she studied International Commercial Insurance Law as a speciality. She went on to achieve a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course. During this time she worked as a legal advisor for Nottingham Law School’s Legal Advice Centre, gaining valuable experience in alternative dispute resolution. Jean-Francois obtained a master degree from Nice Sophia Antipolis University, France, where he studied Business Law and Corporate Finance as a speciality. He went on to undertake a doctoral research on French and English Corporate and Insolvency Law before completing the Legal Practice Course with Commendation in the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining Caytons Law, Jean-Francois worked in London where he gained experience in general practice. He later joined a prominent International Law Firm, gaining valuable experience in Capital Markets and Debt Finance.

Kelly obtained a 2:1 Law Degree in 2011. Prior to joining Caytons Law as a paralegal, Kelly undertook work experience placements gaining experience in professional negligence claims before completing her degree. Since joining Caytons Law in 2011, Kelly has assisted in defending claims against a wide range of professionals with a particular focus on claims against solicitors. She has also been exposed to cases concerning a variety of underlying matters, including litigation, conveyancing and administration of wills. In addition she has also been involved in disputes involving coverage. Kelly has now extended into the Irish jurisdiction and is currently involved in a large commercial claim. Kelly became senior legal assistant in 2015.

Somme attained a 2:1 Law degree from Brunel University. Before joining Caytons Law as a paralegal, Somme gained invaluable experience at a number of law firms whilst completing his degree, before deciding to specialise in professional negligence.
